To our friends in Singapore,
Southeast Asia is currently facing its biggest crisis with massive floods in Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar. Tens of millions of people have been displaced and affected, and millions of acres of rice crops destroyed.
We have been informed that Mercy Relief has deployed and delivered relief teams and supplies to Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand, addressing the basic survival needs of food, water and accessibility to medical care. Another team is currently in the worst-affected Thai province of Ayutthaya to support the relief efforts there. For their latest regional relief engagements, you may log on to Mercy Relief.
In Singapore, Mercy Relief is raising funds for the Southeast Asian Floods from 5 October - 6 November (Commissioner?s of Charities Permit Number: 0074/2011).
As part of the fundraising efforts to support the ongoing regional relief operations, Mercy Relief is organizing an island-wide Flag Day on 23rd October 2011 (Sunday). They would like to invite you to seize this opportunity to chip in your time, sweat and energy to help cushion the pains of our disaster-stricken neighbours.
The event will run in 2 shifts -
Shift 1: 10am-3pm
Shift2: 3pm-7pm.
Should you be keen and willing to champion the cause with them, please contact Edlynna at edlynna@mercyrelief.org
